Aeterna's Story Thus Far

Aeterna Tea was born in the distant reaches of Xak Tural, surrounded by the lush flora near Lake Toari. Her childhood, however, took a significant turn when her mother, a former Alexandrian, passed away. Her father, a wanderer by nature, moved them to the bustling city-state of Ul'dah, seeking a fresh start amidst the glittering sands and vibrant life of the city.      In Ul'dah, Aeterna was raised in an environment vastly different from the serene beauty of Shaaloani. Despite the hustle and bustle of the city, her father's adventurous spirit lived on in her, and she developed a keen eye for detail and an innate grace. Her black and white fur, reminiscent of a tuxedo, earned her the affectionate nickname "The Tuxedo Alchemist" among her peers.      Aeterna’s life in Ul'dah was marked by her growing curiosity about the world around her, especially the medicinal properties of plants. Her father's influence, though he was often distant and lost in his own wanderings, instilled in her a deep love for exploration and discovery.      Aeterna's journey into the world of botanical pharmacology led her to become a renowned figure in her trade, crafting remedies that she spread across the star. Yet, despite her wandering feet, her heart remained grounded in the life she built in Ul'dah, particularly in the love she found with Arcanium Primus, a scholar from Ishgard. Their relationship, built on mutual respect and shared intellect, became a beacon of warmth in Aeterna's life, even as she continued to explore the world.      In her free moments, Aeterna delights in crafting trinkets and garments, often inspired by the places she visits. She’s also a passionate dancer, finding joy in movement and expression. Her life is a delicate balance of work and passion, but through it all, she remains fiercely dedicated to the people she loves, ever striving to make the world a more beautiful place—one remedy, one dance, one moment of grace at a time.

Aeterna & Arcanium

First Date: A Dance of Minds and Hearts

The city of Ishgard, with its towering spires and snow-covered streets, stood as a testament to resilience and strength. It was a place where history whispered through every cobblestone, and where the weight of the past seemed to hang in the cold, crisp air. For Arcanium Primus, it was home—a fortress of knowledge and tradition where he had spent countless hours buried in ancient tomes and scholarly debates. But on this particular evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a golden hue across the icy landscape, his thoughts were not on his studies. They were on Aeterna Tea.      Arcanium had met Aeterna only a few weeks prior when she had come to the Scholasticate to sell her remedies. The conversations that had begun over botanical theory quickly evolved into something more—an exchange of ideas and philosophies, a meeting of minds that left both of them eager for more. Arcanium, normally reserved and composed, found himself drawn to Aeterna in a way that was both exhilarating and terrifying. He had invited her to dinner that evening, uncertain of what would follow but hopeful that the connection they had begun to forge would only deepen.      Aeterna arrived at the appointed time, her presence a warm contrast to the cold Ishgardian night. Her black and white fur was elegantly groomed, and she wore a simple yet beautiful cloak made of rich green fabric, the color reminiscent of the forests she so loved. As she approached, Arcanium couldn’t help but notice how her eyes sparkled with curiosity and warmth, a reflection of the life she lived—one filled with adventure, discovery, and compassion.      “Good evening, Arcanium,” Aeterna greeted him, her voice carrying the lightness of someone who found joy in the simple pleasures of life.      “Good evening, Aeterna,” Arcanium replied, his normally stoic demeanor softening as he offered her his arm. “I’m glad you could join me tonight.”      As they walked through the streets of Ishgard, the conversation flowed easily between them. They spoke of Aeterna’s travels, the strange and wonderful plants she had encountered, and the people she had met along the way. Arcanium listened with rapt attention, fascinated by her stories and the way she saw the world—not just as a place to study, but as a living, breathing entity full of mysteries waiting to be uncovered.      Their destination was a small, intimate restaurant tucked away in one of Ishgard’s quieter districts. It was a place known more for its atmosphere than its cuisine, with candlelit tables and a warm hearth that provided a welcome respite from the cold. As they were seated, the soft strains of a violin began to play, adding a melodic undertone to the evening.      Over dinner, their conversation turned to more personal matters. Aeterna spoke of her father, the wanderer she had never truly known but whose spirit lived on in her. Arcanium shared stories of his family—of the knights who had come before him, and of the choice he had made to pursue knowledge instead of the blade. They found common ground in their shared experiences of loss and the paths they had chosen to walk in response.      As the evening progressed, the music from the violin grew more lively, filling the restaurant with a festive energy. Aeterna’s eyes sparkled as she watched the couples around them begin to dance, her love for movement evident in the way she subtly swayed to the rhythm. Noticing this, Arcanium felt a rare sense of daring.      “Would you care to dance?” he asked, his voice betraying a hint of nervousness.      Aeterna smiled, a warm, inviting expression that put Arcanium at ease. “I would love to,” she replied.      They stood and moved to the small dance floor, joining the other couples. Arcanium, though a scholar by nature, was surprisingly graceful as he led Aeterna through the steps. They moved in perfect harmony, the rhythm of the music guiding their movements. For Aeterna, the dance was a natural expression of her joy and connection with the world. For Arcanium, it was a revelation—a moment where he felt truly alive, free from the constraints of his scholarly life.      As they danced, the world around them seemed to fade away. It was just the two of them, their movements perfectly in sync, their hearts beating as one. The connection they had begun to forge over tea and conversation had blossomed into something more profound, something that neither of them had expected but both were eager to explore.      When the music finally slowed, and the last notes of the violin faded into the night, Arcanium and Aeterna found themselves standing close, their breaths mingling in the cool air. There was a moment of silence, a shared understanding passing between them, before Arcanium finally spoke.      “Thank you,” he said softly, his voice filled with sincerity. “This evening has been… more than I could have hoped for.”      Aeterna smiled, her eyes filled with warmth and affection. “The pleasure was mine, Arcanium. I look forward to many more evenings like this.”      As they left the restaurant and walked through the quiet streets of Ishgard, the bond between them felt stronger than ever. The night had been more than just a first date—it had been the beginning of something beautiful, something that would shape both of their lives in ways they could not yet fully understand. And as they parted ways, with promises to see each other again soon, both Aeterna and Arcanium knew that their journey together was only just beginning.
